If you say St. Petersburg, you
say the Hermitage Museum, but St. Petersburg is also known of the City of 300
Bridges.
Red Bull Air Race St. Petersburg Cancelled
The majestic appearance of St.
Petersburg is achieved through a variety of architectural details including
long, straight boulevards, vast spaces, gardens and parks, decorative
wrought-iron fences, monuments and decorative sculptures. The Neva River itself,
together with its many canals and their granite embankments and bridges, gives
the city a unique and striking ambience. These bodies of water led to St.
Petersburg being given the name of "Venice of the North".
The Air Race.
The competition will be held in the evening during the city’s
famous ‘White Nights’ season when the sky remains light throughout the night. St
Petersburg will be the fourth stop in the Series which consists of nine
worldwide races. The event will be based on the Arrow of Vasilievsky Island,
with the race itself taking place over the Neva River, against the spectacular
backdrop of the Winter Palace, home of Russia’s renowned museum, The Hermitage.
Michael Goulian should not start at the St.
Petersburg Air Race. His wife is expecting their baby and it is
due any time during the weekend of the race!
