Red Bull Air Race Pilot 2008 – 2009
South African pilot, Glen Dell, flies in the 2009 Red Bull Air Race with number 45.
In October 2006, Glen was invited to attend a qualifications camp in Arizona , USA for the third season of the championships. Pilots in attendance not only had to demonstrate their flying skills, but also how precisely, fast and safely they could fly through the course of inflatable pylons.
Slick Aircraft Project
In 2003 Glen started an aerobatic aircraft manufacturing project. Seeing the gap that aircraft manufacturers such as Sukhoi, Cap, etc left in the market after ceasing aerobatic aircraft production, inspired Glen to design, create and develop the Slick 360 aircraft.
The Super Slick originates from the Slick 360 and externally there is very little difference, however, a peek under the engine’s cowl reveals a 330 hp Monty Barrett modified Lycoming engine mated to a slightly larger three bladed MT-Propeller. The power to weight ratio of the Super Slick is approximately 30% greater than that of the Slick 360.

In 1988 Glen joined South African Airways and flew Boeing 747 and 767′s for a number of years and thereafter moved on to the Boeing 737 fleet as training captain. Glen recently did an Airbus aircraft series conversion and currently flies the Airbus A340.

2004 - 1st overall at AWAC in Ljungbyhed , Sweden .
